The Embedded Hardware Team The Embedded Hardware team designs the physical electrical circuits, controllers, and sensor interfaces that drive Mujin

We build high-performance automation software and systems at Mujin, enabling autonomous perception, motion planning, and real-time execution.

We turn electrical and electronic requirements into industrial-grade systems:

Electrical Cabinet Design

We design the layout, wiring, power distribution, and thermal management for Mujin’s core controller cabinets.

PCB Schematics & Layout

We design custom circuit boards for sensor routing, signal isolation, and communications protocols inside our controller units.

Sensor & I/O Integration

We select and integrate high-reliability industrial components (e.g., PLCs, safety relays, fieldbus units) into our standard cells.


We prioritize electrical noise immunity, compliance, and thermal reliability:

  1. Design & CAD Software
    • EPLAN Electric P8 or AutoCAD Electrical for electrical schematic generation.
    • Altium Designer or KiCad for custom PCB layouts.
  2. Safety & Standards Compliance
    • Enforcing international standards (e.g., CE, UL, ISO 13849-1) for safety circuits.
    • Using oscilloscopes, thermal cameras, and signal analyzers for physical prototyping.
  3. Prototyping & Assembly Workflow
    • Direct physical assembly and testing of pilot hardware in our workshop.
    • Collaborating with manufacturers to guide PCB assembly and cabinet manufacturing.

  • Technical Competence: Strong foundation in electronics, power distribution, noise shielding, and industrial hardware.
  • Effective Collaboration: Working with software and mechanical teams to coordinate physical dimensions and interfaces.
  • Continuous Learning: Remaining updated on new safety certifications and compact electrical design patterns.
