Embedded System QA Team

The Embedded System QA Team The Embedded System QA team validates the firmware, hardware, and safety systems of Mujin

We build high-performance automation software and systems at Mujin, enabling autonomous perception, motion planning, and real-time execution.

We verify that our physical controllers and low-level interfaces never fail:

Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL)

We build and maintain HIL test setups to simulate robot and sensor signals, validating controller behavior before actual connection.

Safety System Validation

We verify emergency stop loops, safe speed limitations, and safety PLC programming logic to meet strict ISO standards.

Firmware & Protocol Testing

We test low-level communications (EtherCAT, Modbus, Profinet) and firmware updates for stability and edge-case handling.

We design rigorous physical and automated verification pipelines:

  1. Testing Frameworks & Scripts
    • Python scripting for automated test orchestration and data analysis.
    • PLC programming tools for interfacing and validating safety sequences.
  2. Measurement Instruments
    • Oscilloscopes, digital analyzers, and programmable power supplies.
    • Custom-built breakout boxes for hardware fault injection.
  3. Execution & Bug Hunting Workflow
    • Designing tests to stress communications protocols and simulate noise.
    • Performing regression testing on new firmware and electrical configurations.

We look for detail-oriented testing engineers with a hardware focus:

  • Technical Competence: Experience in embedded systems, electronics, industrial automation, and scripting.
  • Effective Collaboration: Communicating hardware defects clearly to both electrical engineers and firmware developers.
  • Continuous Learning: Adapting to new industrial safety laws and building modular, reusable test systems.
